I affirm the evangelical Christian faith set out in what is known as the "Second London Baptist Confession of 1689." To be as clear as I can about what I believe in response to more modern challenges not explicitly addressed in the Baptist Confession, I also add five points of clarification I call "the five C's."
Creationism - I affirm the biblical teaching that God created the Universe in six normal days as taught in Genesis 1, roughly 6,000 years ago
Complementarianism - I affirm the biblical teaching that God created humans male and female, equal in God's image, yet with complementary roles
Calvinism - I affirm the biblical doctrines of grace historically expressed in the "Five Solas" of the Reformation and in the acronym, T.U.L.I.P.
Cessationism - I affirm the biblical teaching that the offices of apostle and prophet ended, along with new revelation, with the deaths of the Lord's 12 apostles
Chiliasm - I affirm the biblical teaching of a literal thousand-year reign of Christ on Earth (from the Greek, χίλιοι [chilioi: thousand] in Rev 20:3, etc.)
For more explanation see our church's doctrinal statement here which includes all of these five points in more detail.
